events | sleepover at citizenm

June 23, 2014
A few weeks ago I received an e-mail inviting me to the inauguration of a new hotel located close to the Charles de Gaulle airport… the hotel CitizenM Paris CDG an innovative concept of affordable luxury.

The night seemed promising, a big sleepover party with lots of food and drink and a fun group of guests, among them many of my blogger friends.
So that Thursday night, right after work I took my little luggage and hopped in the Roissy Bus looking forward to a great night.
The moment I arrived I felt a bit self-conscious since I bumped into a large group of people all dressed to impress and I was dressed in my day job’s outfit thinking maybe I was the only silly person to actually bring
a luggage with her.
Fortunately then I found a person from the staff who quickly did my check-in in one of the monitors in the lobby and off I was to discover my room for the night.
Once on the third floor I entered a fresh modern-looking room in a red-black-white palette… on the desk was a tablette displaying a message of welcome with my name and on the chair a super cute bag filled with goods… I had barely set foot there and I already felt spoiled.
So quickly I shed the sneakers and freshened up to go downstairs to party.
It was only then that I realized how incredibly cool the decoration was, great bookshelves were sectioning the big lobby into different small lounging areas, with desks, tables or sofas.
The bookshelves had each a color theme and were filled with interesting and decorative items, from books, to portraits, to figurines, to miniature planes, to anything you can think of.
I was then waken up from my trance by a nice waiter who filled my hands with a mojito and a super cute mousse au chocolat in the shape of a flower pot, and from that point on my hands were never empty, whether it was a nice glass of champagne or a yummy treat.
And so I chatted and danced the night away with Natalie, Ann and Lauren until the point we realized we better go to bed since we all had to go to work the following day.
Once in the bedroom I realized I had found one of my top five beds ever… omg that bed was like sleeping on a cloud (or what I think that would feel like) and so it was epic torture to hear the alarm clock telling me it was time to go.
But to make up for the fact of being ripped off that majestic bed, I was once again spoiled with a super yummy brunch to recover from the fun of the previous night.
Sadly after that I had to do my check out (where I got to keep my keys as luggage tags) and so I took the bus back to reality.
This is all to thank CitizenM for having me in the inauguration of their new Paris hotel and to invite you all to discover their awesome concept and keep them in mind for your next trip to either Amsterdam, Glasgow, London, New York, Rotterdam and of course Paris.
*If I recommend it is because I personally had a wonderful experience, this is not a sponsored post ;)
