Today I want to share with you my Tsumori Chisato Backstage and Runway photos taken the past AW15 season of PFW.
This was the second time I’ve covered this show and I really do like it because just as Manish Arora, Tsumori Chisato is a designer that doesn’t let the pressure of “selling” to meddle with her artistic direction.
When a designer lets him/herself run free with their creativity it gives place to outstanding collections that are a treat to the eye… and me as a photographer I cherish that dearly.
One might be deluded to think that this collection would have more success at comic con rather than fashion week, and that might be partly right but I do believe that Chisato has a niche cult following that probably is crazy about this cheeky collection.
Apparently the designer wanted to be a comic illustrator when she was younger and in this season she let that part of her express… I honestly find the result really cute and fun!
I personally like more the pieces that make a “clin d’oeil” to the comic/super hero theme rather than expressing it literally but I do find the beauty in it all.
I do have a playful style so would have no issue wearing some of the looks showcased, specially those in the black, white and pink palette.
Obviously this was once again a fun show to shoot and overall I was left with a positive impression.
But I’m curious to know what you guys out there think of it? I heard someone say that it was cute but seemed more targeted to kids than adults… do you agree?
Thanks for passing by!
