My first time in Milan for Fashion Week… and the first mission was to shoot the Stella Jean Street Style.
It was all so new and confusing at the same time. I didn’t expect that, since I’ve been shooting street style for so long in Paris, I just assumed it would be the same everywhere, but it definitely isn’t. I already got a hint of that in New York, but I think I didn’t quite absorb it since I was there half working half on holidays, so I didn’t feel the pressure to “get enough good shots”, I was there just to enjoy the ride.
Here it was different, I was in Milan with the sole objective of doing my job= Shooting Street Style.
Plus, to begin, this show took place in front of the Duomo, which is probably the most touristic spot in Milan, so you can only imagine the amount of people there… then I don’t know it was all just different, so I felt a little bit out of place.
By the end of this show, I was a bit defeated cause I felt like I didn’t get quite amazing or enough decent photos (I was right), plus I the whole experience was a bit odd… I felt like a fish out of water and I definitely didn’t like that.
The good thing is that by the second show it got so much better, so it was just a matter of adjustment :)
I guess I’m telling you all this, to justify the fact that these shots aren’t ALL THAT… but I still think it’s important to share them with you.
Hope you’re having a great weekend, and of course, don’t forget to share the love if you like this post <3
