I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep on saying it: Chanel Street Style is one of my favorite to shoot.
That is among many other reasons because it is the biggest parade of “anything Chanel” there is.
That is pretty awesome for a girl who unfortunately can’t yet afford their products, and has been obsessed with the label ever since she was around 12.
The thing is, I was introduced to the world of Fashion through Chanel… I know it might sound silly in the technological era we live in nowadays… but when I was a kid, I didn’t have access to all the fashion information and inspiration that is so easy to find today.
So in my case, Fashion wasn’t always there, but it was introduced to me at a certain point of my life, so I can literally divide my life in terms of before and after I discovered Fashion per se.
Like of course, ever since I was little I loved dressing up, and wearing those things that were trendy and made me feel cool and pretty… but I understood the concept of “Fashion” way later.
It was with Chanel that I learned about how there was a new collection every two seasons; that they were presented to a restricted group of people who would determine what would be sold and not sold; that whatever labels presented that day, would determine what would be “in trend” the following season; the difference between Couture and Prêt-à-Porter and that there are many categories of products within a Fashion House: Apparel, Beauty & Perfumery, Accessories, etc.
So taking into account that this Fashion House introduced me to this world that inspires me so much… then it is easy to guess that shooting its street style is like a little dream come true to me.
Now the next step is to shoot the Chanel Couture and RTW shows, and I promise I’m getting there ;)
I hope these photos inspire you as much as I enjoy taking them!
