Here they are, my PFW SS15 Street Style Shots from between shows: Mugler, Acne and Vivienne Westwood.
Although these are not my favorite I hope you’ll like them, cause each and every photo I take, regardless of the result, is taken with a lot of effort, commitment and passion.
It is just so exciting shooting Street Style… although I guess it’s not for everyone, since although the results are the capture of glamour, creativity and sophistication; there’s nothing glamorous about Street Style shooting.
At first, I wanted to look fashionable while it, but with the more experience I’ve gained I’ve actually finally understood that what I wear should be comfortable, flexible, weather appropriate and shouldn’t get in my way. Shoes should definitely be lace-up flats if not trainers, you’ll be hating the ballerinas or heels by the end of the day.
Then, carrying a camera and probably some lenses, makes for a pretty heavy load, and handbags will screw your balance plus become a nuisance, so you either have to carry a backpack or nothing at all (which I can’t really do, I’m one of those girls who NEED to carry everything with them).
And there’s other elements that depend on the time, like sunglasses, hats, etc. But in the end there’s not much room for looking super fashionable, unless you can afford the designer versions of comfy clothes, like Chanel sneakers, KTZ bombers, Louis Vuitton backpack, etc.
Plus there’s the part of waiting and waiting for a show to start or be over, moving around the city to all the different venues (no car) and LITERALLY running after your objects, sometimes fighting for a photo.
Don’t get me wrong, in no way am I saying I don’t like it, or that it’s not freaking cool.
Actually if I could make a living out of it, I wouldn’t think it twice… traveling the world photographing fashion and the people that make it happen seems like a dream! Plus sometimes doing Street Style opens the doors to other options such as shooting runway & backstage, lookbooks, editorial and more!
Perhaps 2015 will be the year when I do this full time, who knows? ;)
So I wanna know! Do you think you’d be up for the drill? Does shooting Street Style seem at all appealing to you?
Thanks for passing by!
